We’re delighted to unveil the new Gentle Grip x Royal Horticultural Society collection. Inspired by the RHS Lindley Collections, the world’s finest collection of botanical art, our first range which launched last year, is enjoyed by nature and comfort lovers alike. Featuring 6 new designs, 3 for men and 3 for ladies, the new collection promises to bring even more beautiful designs together with the same exceptional quality, with our famous HoneyComb Top™ never looking better. Featuring new floral motifs and characters (including a cheeky gnome), let’s delve into the new collection and explore the makings behind the designs and how these comfortable socks came to life.
Inside the Design Process
When looking at the inspiration behind the new range, similarly to the first collection, nature was a source of creativity and wonder. In the design process, our talented designers carefully study the RHS Lindley Collections, deciding which illustrations to transform into a sock design. The RHS Lindley Collections, primarily located at the RHS Lindley Library in central London, houses over 90,000 books, 30,000 botanical artworks, 200,000 photographs and rare manuscripts.
Drawing inspiration from these artworks allows us to celebrate the beauty of the natural world while paying tribute to the extraordinary heritage of the RHS Lindley Collections. To explore the RHS Lindley Collections, please click here.

Whether it be delicate florals, intricate foliage or vibrant insects and wildlife, the aim is for there to be an array of beautiful designs to suit every personality and style. When it comes to the design process, the designers carefully consider how the pattern is going to interact with the stretch of the fabric. Colour plays a big part in the outcome of the final design, with each palette carefully chosen so each sock in a 3-pack complements each other. Like all Gentle Grip socks, each pair of cosy socks is designed with our signature non-restrictive HoneyComb Top™, offering everyday comfort as well as beautiful, nature-inspired style.
New Range
The prints of the new collection showcase fun motifs such as gnomes and birds, and of course, it wouldn’t be a true RHS collection without some lovely florals. Our design team recently spent the day at the RHS Garden Bridgewater to honour (and proudly show off!) the new range. Surrounded by the scenery that helped to inspire the range was a perfect way to reflect on the creative journey of each design and celebrate the launch.
